Great Firesteel rod. Extremely hot sparks when scrapped. I will buy again when this rod runs out, which will be awhile.

I had one that I used all the time, and ordered 2 more so I can have these in different packs and camping set-up's,for day hikes and long treks. They are the real deal and then some. the bigger the rod, the bigger the shavings, the faster you get a bigger spark/fire. It's a no brainer - there is no way you can be disappointed in this rod. If you are, then you don't know how to use it properly.

It is safe to say that this firesteel is huge by comparison to most on the market. However, I was specifically looking for a firesteel of this length so that I can cord wrap it and still have a usable span of firesteel.

WONDERFUL products, let's off burning balls of molten material while others makes sparks. Comparing other brands of firesteels is like comparing the amount of sparks you get when striking metal to concrete. When striking the Firesteel.com firesteel it's similar to scooping up molten lava and putting it in your tinder bundle. It sticks to the scraper and burns away at it while you try to figure out what to do next.

I ordered this because Ron has such a great price. After receiving this in the mail, I was just in awe of how freakin' huge this thing is! Seriously, I don't think I could use this thing up if I tried! I also ordered 3 super scrapers and they work amazing and are good quality. They will definitely be in my pack.
