Great Fire Steel
The Bunker 2.5 x4" throws a great amount of sparks with a good knife.

Ya Get What You Pay For
With other varieties of similar needs and use, I've had them literally break in my hands, after using only a few times; either the actual flint or break from its handle. After a good amount of searching and researching I found a true higher quality in FireSteel. Having "bear paws" I've tried, with great ease, making fire! I've tried from dried grass to leaves, newspaper to notebook paper, various bark to pine needles and made fire every time. However my need was for a length of 2 1/2 inches, even after carefully cutting in half, with such a small area to work with fire was made! In one word "Excellent" or even "Outstanding"!! Like the old saying "Ya get what you pay for"

Great Ferro Rod!
I've heard so much about these over the past year and I finally ordered from them. When using the spine of my knife the sparks just come off and stay hot for several seconds. I also like that you can scrape small shavings off to get a pile like a magnesium bar for stubborn tinder. I'm curious to how long they last because I like playing with them just to see the sparks fall. I will order from firesteel.com again.

Simply the BEST
I have used all kinds of fero rods. These are simply the best and the only ones I purchase any more. Don't waste your time with others. Great product, good price. Bottom line...I trust them.

A Beast!
This thing will get you an ember or ignition where other lesser rods might fail if your variables aren't optimal. This one will get you an ember or ignition with much less optimal fuels. It is very easy to generate long lasting large showers of sparks.

Great for kids, cubs scouts and scouts.
Great product, and if you are teaching kids (in my case cubs and scouts) this size is easy to grip for smaller hands. The sparks are large and bounce all over the tinder and remain burning for a split second. We used a closed Opinel knife for scraping the steel, good solid edge and easy to hold, and since it has a locking blade it is approved for cubs and scouts. Firesteel shipping was fast.

Great product!
Great product and fast shipping! Throws a huge amount of sparks which has helped ignite marginal tinder bundles. Couldn't be happier.
