    many sizes of firesteels

Posted by Wayne Knowles on Sep 18th 2011

I have many sizes of firesteels. I like the 1/2" a lot but the 3/8" is the best all around for personal carry (1/2" for my Bug Out Bag) and it's size is great. Beefy but not too big. Various lengths suit different needs but the 4 inch is my choice--big enough for a handle (suggestion: wrap in duct tape) or leave as is.

    Got mine yesterday

Posted by James Hoy on Sep 18th 2011

It came in the mail yesterday, and already throwing sparks. I had to go outside and make a fire in the fire pit and worked flawlessly. I have some of the outdoor store firesteels and this puts it to shame. Keep it up Ron im going to order more real soon.

    FIRST AND FOREMOST

Posted by THE HARMONIC JEDI on Sep 18th 2011

I received my Firesteel about a week ago and i have found it to be the best i have ever seen. I used a new car battery cable connection to give it a great handle for hiking and backpacking. The cost in total was about ten dollars and I i have to say i will never use another product again. If you don't own firesteel.com firesteel you don't know quality.

Most sparks in the smallest package

Posted by Unknown on Sep 18th 2011

I bought 10 of these for the great quantity price which will last a lifetime. These will give you the most sparks in the smallest size Firesteel. They fit fine in Altoids tins and give great sparks with Firesteels super scraper tool or even a piece of an old hacksaw blade. These will always work and you don't have to worry about them having a "shelf life". Keep one along with some cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly and you will never have to worry about making a fire any time you need one. Keep one in every vehicle. Having a career in quality control, I tested and compared these against several others. Firesteel.com firesteels are clearly the best.
