    Armageddon 5.0

Posted by Dallas on Feb 20th 2015

Was shipped fast and arrived in a reasonable amount of time considering that I live in the great white north. The 5.0 is fantastic, the coating is not to hard to get off and sparks of plenty soon there after. I'm also impressed with the sparks themselves, well formulated with not a lot of excess material being wasted. Three fire's in and all three started first time, I have no idea how long this will last but the claim of thousands of fire's would be a good guess. I also appreciate the packaging it's refreshing. I'll be ordering again.

Great product and service. This rod makes a serious amount of sparks! Got this one to put in the fire steel loop of a new knife sheath. I am going to buy a few more to stash in packs and such.

    WOW

Posted by Crowe on Jan 21st 2015

I have smaller FireSteels that throw great sparks but have never had a large FireSteel. This thing is awesome! Using my 1095 knife with a 90 degree spine I can throw sparks 3'. It burns hot and has that "sizzling" sound when it hits the ground. I bought the FireSteel with the lanyard hole in it and added an antler handle that I pinned and epoxied. Bushcrafters, this is the real deal!

Best knife companion money can buy.

Posted by Singzdream on Jan 14th 2015

If you own or intend to own a quality knife, they nearly all come with 3/8 firesteel loops. Bottom line: THIS is the firesteel you want to pair with your bushcraft/survival blade if you never want to spend a cold night out there.

    Good product

Posted by Jim on Jan 14th 2015

It makes good sparks and is nice to have a larger diameter steel. I tried to set the shipping paper on fire with it and almost succeeded. Lol Not appropriate tender but almost worked. Good product.
