Great Replacement blank!
I used this blank to replace the worn-out rod in my Light My Fire set. It saves you tons of money on replacement-- is is longer and gives you more for your money than the rod in the original set. Here is a video of how I did it: http://youtu.be/mNC_HnkNLgI

FireSteel.com is all I use anymore!
I have been using these rods for about two years now. I have remote property that my family and I are at every weekend throughout the summer. We are constantly building a fire in the woodstove, outside, or lighting a cook stove. The FireSteel is the only thing I use anymore. I have gone through about twenty of these due to friends and family wanting one once they see how easy it is to use. Both of my kids (8 and 10) use these rods for building fires. For tender I generally use cotton balls with petroleum jelly, but have also used birch bark, grass, and diesel. I'm ordering more today...
