The length of the 3" and 4" rods makes it easy to hold onto, and there is plenty of firesteel to practice making fires and bring home for use hiking, camping, and practicing survival and fire making skills.

    Throws lots of sparks. if you can't start a fire with this firesteel you probably shouldn't be camping.

    I use this fire steel rod to make components for the survival para chord bracelets that I make. Even in smaller lengths that I use, the product provides quality spark for fire production.

    I purchased 3 different sizes with lanyard holes. One for each of the grand kids & one for me, along with the strikers. All sizes work perfectly well . A cotton ball with petroleum jelly on it starts within 3 strokes every time. Thanks for your fast delivery and a great product. Will purchase more later for gifts.

    I have never used fire steel before. I decided to go with FireSteel.com because of all the excellent reviews. I ordered 6 Fire Steel Rangers and I was able to light my first fire within minutes. I am completely happy with this product and would not hesitate to endorse it to anyone, no matter what their skill level may be.
