Ranger Firesteel Blanks
They spark very well and can produce over 1,000 fires. The real test of fire making ability lies in the preparation of the tinder bundle. Buy a few of these, keep one for practice, one to use, and one as a backup. I use these in my survival classes.

Great product for custom firesteels
I bought these to make a couple of smaller custom fire steels for the two instructors at the Survival School. I am making them to be a token of appreciation since my upcoming class will be the third course I have taken at the School. I can think of no other firesteel to use as a basis for a gift to a survival instructor than one from FireSteel.com.

Showers of Pyrophoricity from this little fire steel!
This is a perfect little fire steel that fits anywhere, and throws showers of sparks! After using several brands of fire steels, I found a big difference in the FireSteel brand, it's performance is far superior to other brands. Perfect for the fire or survival tin, pack or even pocket. Highly recomended.
