    Great Piece of Hardware

Posted by Dustin on Dec 6th 2012

I buy these rods and put antler handles on them. The 3/8" diameter gives the striker plenty of surface contact, which in turn sends a huge shower of sparks with just one strike They are absolutely excellent for any hunter's, camper's, or any one else's survival pack. I keep a ranger FireSteel on my key chain, and use my Armageddon FireSteel on extended trips to the woods.

    Excellent firesteel

Posted by Eli on Dec 5th 2012

I have made a number of purchases from FireSteel.com and find all of their products to be excellent in quality and price. These, combined with their scrapers are the best firesteel options available anywhere.

Come on Baby Light My Fire

Posted by Aaron (currently lighting his fires in Afghanistan) on Oct 18th 2012

This FireSteel.com FireSteel produces an amazing shower of sparks. It is beefy and easily used with gloves. The lanyard hole is excellent. It will be the primary fire starter on my upcoming JMT hike. I would not leave home without it.

Ordered the Armageddon with Lanyard Hole as part of a survival sheath I built for my parang. It fit perfectly in the custom firesteel loop and the spark is very strong. lanyard hole is big enough to easily fit gutted 550 cord through. Great product!

Better than all the rest at a great price!

Posted by Todd N on Jun 27th 2012

I tested this out as soon as I recieved it. It works great, producing a shower of sparks every time. The FireSteel Armageddon is much beefier and much more reliable than any of the other similar products I have purchased at the outdoor stores. I keep one on my knife sheath and one in my fire starting kit in my backpack. This is a great product at a great price!

Good size to attach to a knife sheath and throws lots of sparks. I had a leather sheath with a pocket for this made for my Leatherman wave. I use the back of the saw blade as a stiker and it is very effective.

One of the best rods sold.

Posted by Paul on May 28th 2012

I prefer the Armageddon or the Armageddon junior as my ferrocium rod of choice. I use a length of paracord to couple the rod to the Firesteel Super Scraper. Very simple, very reliable, and extremely effective!
