    perfect size

Posted by Robert Cook on May 21st 2014

The pup is a perfect size fire steel to insert into hollowed paracord. I used a small piece and gorilla glued it to the end of the steel and hung it on my key chain as part of my EDC. It worked perfect!! Throws sparks just like other ones I've gotten from Firesteel.com. I really like their products.

    Does just what it says

The pup is exactly what it says and works perfect for the kits I'm making. I also received a hand written note on my receipt which goes a long way with me.

With the super scraper, these throw a real shower of sparks that lit jute right up.

Great for Paracord Bracelet with Fire Kit

Posted by Dave M. on Sep 1st 2013

I purchase the firesteel pup to use in my paracord bracelet fire making kit. I do have to shorten them by about a half in or so and then weave them in with small piece of fatwood( aprox the same length and diameter) and 3 strands of jute twine and a whistle buckle. I have the ability to slide it out and reinsert it if i want. Great product.

    Large enough ...

Posted by Steve on Aug 31st 2013

Small enough but large enough for your EDC. Inexpensive enough to have more than one. Buy one large rod that you may lose or lend when you need it or buy 5 or 6 and have backups. Drop in your pocket for that quick fix fire.

    Quality product, cant go wrong

Posted by Unknown Prepper on Aug 20th 2013

Not my first ferro rod purchse with Ron, and wont be my last. Many of my previous ferro rods not included in my various kits have gone to friends. This rod goes into my car survival kit, next to my Ziploc bowl of Vaseline-soaked cotton balls. I expect to be able to start a fire with this rod in under 3 strikes - same as with my other ferro rods.

    FireSteel Pup

Posted by Michael Foster on May 20th 2013

My son had a Magnesium - Ferro fire starting tool. In the process of moving the ferro rod was broken off (bad glue) and lost. My son, being 9, was devastated because it was his best fire starter. I had no idea where to look for a replacement. I found Firesteel.com and easily found the exact replacement (FireSteel Pup). Within 3 minutes of finding the website, I was entering my card and shipping info. My son was not so sure because the lost one "was the best sparking fire starter that he ever had". When we received the new rod, he was jumping with joy because of the perfect fit and how easy it was to produce sparks. Firesteel.com has already been saved into my favorites and from now on will be the first place I look. I am 100% satisfied with the ease of ordering, delivery of the product and quality of the merchandise received.
