Firesteel miniature
Purchased these to use in an empty altoids box for a small emergency kit to place in my backpack I did find small tin boxes with a slide lid but the are too short I will use the altoids box until I find the right side tin I would purchase the firesteel products again

excellent little spark thrower
Don't worry it's a bit small, this will compete with the big boys for throwing some fire starting sparks.

Small but effective
I looked at several different sizes of firesteel. The miniature is really too small for most used. However it worked and it work pretty well. I use it with a little duct tape “handle”. I can carry it on my key chain and not even know it is there. Bigger is better for starting a fire but I don’t like to carry a 6 oz. firesteel. So if you want a small light emergency steel this is it!

Firesteel miniatures
A very nice product, and works very well.

Better than I hoped!
I purchased the tiniest rods and expected that they'd be fragile as a consequence. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I've heard great things about Firesteel.com - and now I know that it was not simply hot air!

Should of purchased a long time ago
My BOB, along with my wife's, needed the addition of fire steels. After research I found the best regarded steels came from Firesteel.Com. I ordered a couple of steels and scrapers. And the shipping charge was only $4.95 (a place where most business charge $$ for their handling and packaging). In 3 days the order was in my mailbox!!! To my surprise, they arrived in a very small pkg and once opened, found the steels wrapped in an 81/2 x 11 pice of paper.......which was the instructions on how to best use your steels. I found that this "packaging" was totally cool.......no bulk, no fuzzy marketing.......just common sense that keeps the cost to the customer at a minimum. I really appreciate this!!! But the best part are the steels themselves........WOW. Talk about a HOT SPARK. My only concern was that I didn't order any magnesium at the same time. But this company ROCKS. Just check out the reviews. And no, I have no affiliation with this company. I just like giving credit where credit is due. Thanks for a great product!!!! Kirk

Best for Altoid and Mini Kits
I ordered this along with the Micro and the Tiny, I would suggest that this is the smallest you go with if you want a small fire steel for mini survival kits.
