FireSteel Bunker 5.0 with Scraper and Lanyard

After I opened it, I tried the GobSpark a few times with the black layer coating still on it and the oil coating, too. It made a few sparks. After a few strokes, I got through the black layer and then I wiped the oil coating off of the striker. Then **Poof**. A shower of sparks and the tinder went up on the first stroke. I had never made a fire using a "flint & steel" method before. This GobSpark and a few instructions from FireSteel.com on how to use it makes it really easy.

Deserves highest praises I ordered this fire steel Bunker with scraper and lanyard it arrived in just a few days - and the very first chance I had to try it I was camping right in the middle of a winter snow storm with 30 mile an hr. winds and sideways snow. A cotton ball some twine and damp wood 2 strokes off the Bunker and we were in. Fire was roaring with in minute.

When I ordered the "Bunker" firesteel with the lanyard and scraper, I was hoping it would be worth it. Wow, was I ever pleased! This thing is absolutely awesome! Not only is it a huge firesteel, but the striker kicks the sparks in a way that had me mesmerized. I couldn't believe it, so I just kept striking it and watching the sparks fly across the room. Definitely worth every penny. Also, the shipping was amazingly quick. I found it in my mailbox within 2 days of ordering. Highly recommended. If you're wondering whether or not to buy this product, stop wondering and buy it. You won't be sorry.

Tons and tons of sparks. If this won't get a fire going I'm not sure what spark generating device would. Should last a very long time. Definitely recommended.

I purchased this kit after seeing many reviews on YouTube. I have had it with me almost every waking hour since I received it. It was used to start brush piles, construction trash pile and three fire pit fires shared with my granddaughters. The oldest even showed us how she would use it as a signaling device by sparking it skyward. Very effective by the way. My children like this kit. It will be Christmas gifts for their overnight packs. All in all a very good quality product that does what is advertised and can also be adapted for other uses.

I saw your products reviews. This combination of emergency fire making tools is very handy. I have already used it in a number of everyday tasks you find around a farm. Brush piles, construction trash piles and evening fire pit burns with the granddaughters have all been no muss on fuss. I have shown the set to my sons and daughter. Christmas gifts for their overnight packs. The price is right, the combination of products is right and just as important the size is right (I have big hands). When I find a product marketed as "emergency, survival" that I can conveniently use for everyday tasks I consider it a win win. Last night I was showing my granddaughters how to use the magnesium bar and Firesteel. One of them remarked that the sparks were very bright. She conducted a test to see if her thoughts were correct. She said, "see if you can find me". She took the set out onto the field sparked it. There was no problem seeing where she was. She said, "I though that it could be used as a flare if I was lost".
