The FireSteel Armageddon™ Series by FireSteel.com are 3/8 of an inch thick.
The 3/8 diameter x 4 inches long Armageddon 4.0™ by FireSteel.com with pre-drilled lanyard hole, plus the famous Super Scraper and lanyard to go with it.
Add the optional Magnesium Tinder rod (3/8" x 3") and you'll have the means to start a fire even in damp conditions.

Just What I Wanted
All in one setup and very good quality.

Its more than just another way to make fire.
Firesteel Armageddon is what I am outfitting my field knives with. I confess that much of my experience with bushcraft is learned in my backyard sitting at my fire whittling all sorts of things. Building fires with my fire drill or magnifying glass is most rewarding. But the firesteel is my absolute confidence that I can make fire fast and efficiently when other methods are too slow and risky. Many of us Americans are rugged individualists who find comfort in our independence. Fire is a basic tool we use to live our lives, and making fire without a lighter or match is its own reward. With my Firesteel I don't mutter to myself, "I hope this works." I know it will work because it always does. Ron's blend of metals works every time in a most predictable manner. It is consistent, and I know I can use it to make fire. Armageddon is a robust steel and fits perfectly in the tubes I made on my sheathes. I recommend getting the scraper, too. I can pull the steel off my knife and still have a complete system for fire starting and don't have to rely on my knife to scrape with. I just like the added independence. Thank you Ron for committing yourself to your business and us, your customers who appreciate quality the first time.

Armageddon
Took the Armageddon from the shipping box, scraped a postage stamp size amount of magnesium, first strike attempt sent the magnesium blazing. Absolutely the best fire steel/ magnesium fire starter on the market. I will order more for myself and others for gifts.

Heavy duty
This is a beefy fire steel. It's not exactly compact compared to some of the cheaper ones out there, but it's worth its weight and then some.

With things being as they are in the world today, I think it smart to always carry a jacket, a sharp knife and a reliable fire steel. The Armageddon is my choice. Great product and fast service
Bought two of these for Christmas gifts but had to try them out when they showed up. They performed as advertised.....which is amazing. I will be ordering a couple more for myself to have in my backpacks. Shipping was extremely fast.

WOW, this thing works great. I used it to start a pile of dead grass on fire. I used a small amount of accelerant on the grass and the Firesteel lit it the first time. I think I'm going to order another one to put in my BOB.
