Perfect diameter for gutted 550 paracord

Posted by Raphael Frommer on Mar 20th 2014

Cut a suitably short length of 550 paracord, remove the 7 inner strands, slip in the miniature steel, sear the ends of the cord with a flame (per usual with paracord), and string onto your keychain.

exactly what I wanted...a steel that sparks heavily, is small and easily stored in my survival kit. It came very fast (a couple days and friendly service. I don't give 5 stars very often but they deserve it!

Coolest thing for a tiny kit

Posted by Philip on Feb 11th 2014

I had trouble envisioning how small this tool would be, but it is just perfect; large enough to grip and get a lot of strikes from, but small enough to fit into even the small camp or survival kits. i was going to put a handle on it, but it works fine for me without one. I'm very happy! The fact that it arrived in no time at all is just a bonus.

Really excited to get this product. The 2 inch rod fits nicely in my wallet. I also ordered one for every one of my family's bug out bags. Great price, great product, and I received it in the mail 3 days after I ordered it. Was very pleased to also receive instructions. Highly recommend.

    Great Product!

I bought several of these steels. I was worried that they might be to small to be able to use affectively. But no they work great! I am gonna keep one in my wallet and one in every emergency kit and backpacking stuff I have.
