FireSteel Armageddon 4.0 with Scraper and Lanyard

These are great. This is the size and combination I carry in my camping pack. I have larger heavier steels for around the home type use and smaller ones for super small emergency kits, but I like the 4" length of the steel for my regular pack. The longer length and the little more weight to it make a spark very simple to get. I'm often out in environments that don't offer a lot of second chances if I run into trouble, so I'm adding the magnesium to my older kits and buying new kits like this with the magnesium already attached in case I have trouble finding fast tinder. Great sparks from every FireSteel I have, and I have several now. Great service, fast shipping, spend the money and get yourself a FireSteel !

Immediatly after receiving my Armageddon 4.0, I opened up the package and was pleasently surprised at the actual length. I took the striker and after two scrapes, I had a shower of sparks dancing on my garage floor. I am saving the lint from my dryer (excellent fire starter material) and can't wait to try this out in my backyard. Most impressive, would recommend this product to anyone who even remotely thinks they may need a fire starter. With this product, I am more than confidant I will stay warm and have hot food and hot beverage, whatever my situation may be.

I bought 3 of these as my second order from Firesteel. They throw a lot of long lasting sparks that the previous rods from other vendors have not done nearly as well. I am more than willing to pay a little more to get the best product that I have come across. Their magnesium bars are also the best that I have purchased. These actually scrape well and will burn when ignited.

I have been extremely pleased with this product, and find that I am often carrying it around my neck when I leave the house. When struck with the accompanying steel striker, it consistently produces a brilliant shower of sparks. I would highly recommend this product to a potential buyer, and at the price you've got nothing to loose. :)

I tried starting a fire with 4 different magnifying glasses. Only achieved smoke. Scraped just a little residue onto dried grass and a cotton ball smeared with Vaseline. Next I struck the firesteel to produce a spark. The grass and cotton ball caught on fire instantly! I felt like Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway! I will be buying more firesteel for my EDC (every day carry) and my BOB (bug out bags). Great product!

This is by far the best firesteel. I live in a tropical climate and it rains quite often here so having something that will light your tinder quickly is kind of a must. Sure it's not snowing like other place but if you wanna sleep all wet and don't have a way to dry yourself up be my guest. All the time I used this firesteel, sparks/bouncing fiery balls are a guarantee and they are hot enough ignite any tinder most likely on the first to the second strike assuming you know how to do it. I highly recommend this product. A+++++

They perform very well in wet conditions. I keep mine in my survival bag whenever I'm out camping or hunting. The super scraper works like a charm too!

This is "THE BEST" Ferrocium rod/magnesium combo I've ever tried and I've tried wayyyyyy more than I should have to find a great product! I strongly recommend it.
