    Ideal Firesteel

Posted by Adventure Sworn on Nov 9th 2013

I've worked with over a hundred firesteels from this site, and I just started using the Survival model. It's my new personal favorite for long-term wilderness trips. It shoots tremendous sparks, lasts [seemingly] forever, yet it doesn't have any unnecessary weight added.

    Long-lasting Excellent Quality Firesteel

Posted by EDCE on Oct 2nd 2013

Been using the survival and ranger firesteels from Firesteel.com for many years now. THEY ARE EXCELLENT!! I cannot recommend them too highly. Very easy to use and carry. Best of all they really work. I teach a machine shop class and have purchases hundreds of these firesteels for the students to use in projects. I am constantly getting comments from students, their parents, and friends on how well these work. I will be a repeat customer.

As usual, these are the best firesteels on the market. Service from Ron is prompt, and prices are more than fair. I would recomend these firesteels to anyone; and get the strikers; also excellent.

These rods throw a shower of white-hot sparks that will ignite a variety of man-made and natural tinders. Durable and reliable. I will be a repeat customer.

    They work

Posted by Glenn Douglas on Mar 14th 2013

I have been working with traditional flint and steel to start fires and decided to extend my capabilities so I bought the FireSteel Survival and the FireSteel Super scraper and when they came in I took them out in the yard where I had some fire making material and in just a few seconds and a few scraps I had a good fire started. I will be sure to ALWAYS have these items in my kit at all times. Thanks FireSteel for such a great product.

    Perfect Size!

Posted by Dustin Leonard on Jan 17th 2013

I carry a firesteel on my keychain daily, and currently it is a ranger. Once I have worn through it, I will be replacing it with a survival firesteel without a doubt. I put antler handle on all sizes of these rods, and have been really wanting a survival. I definitely recommend this size!

You get the opportunity to customize it to your liking. I bought 10 of these for a program I have started and looking forward to seeing the guys make birch tree handles.
