This firesteel is by far the best and easiest to use of all types I've tried. Great sparks with minimal effort, and it was delivered quickly even though I'm in Canada (ships from USA). I'll definitely be buying more of these!

Best rods that you can get out there. Won't let you down. 'Nuff said.

All Firesteels sold by this company are great, it is just a matter of picking the right size for your application.
I picked up this one because I wanted something thick enough to fit a .30 cal bullet casing I am using for handles.
The 4" length is to allow a god amount to be glued into the handle as well as a lot of rod to use. A tip with long rods is to not scrape the whole length, it is just not needed, scrap the last 2" of the rod and when that eventually wears out you still have a 2" rod left to do it all over again!

You picked up the fire steel survival 4.0 and mounted it into a hunk of deer antler. It throws sparks like a forth of July fireworks show. I can't wait to head for the woods and try it out.
Ordering on lineand shipping was fast and easy, my fire steels arrived on time and undamaged

The MOST dependable flame thrower.... This ain't a sparker y'all! It's a ball of fire thrower. All of them from mini to huge! Buy it! Save time and money, and perhaps the lives of you and loved ones ........ I have tried em all( I build fire tools with fatwood handles), trust me. There are NO better ferro rods anywhere. PERIOD!!

Found an old tool in my box used to start wood screws with a nice round wood handle I used to re-purpose and mounted the 4.0 Firesteel blank rod.

My experience with this product and company has been absolutely fantastic! A couple of years ago I purchased a ranger firesteel, survival firesteel and 2 of the old metal firesteel strikers. When I received my order I was very pleased to find that they gave me another ranger and a striker for free!
Then when I went to test them out I couldn't believe how good of quality they were. I have been able to start countless fires with them and you can barely tell that you have used them (little wear into the bar). These are an extremely good value from an extremely good company.

I've had it for over a year now and I too was thinking about getting one of the Swedish Firesteels but this website caught my eye and im glad it did.
I braided a line around one end of the blank firesteels to give it a little grip and a loop if i need to put it on my keys. I usually keep it on the side slot of my leatherman case, giving me a good advantage for firestarting if need be.
I would highly recommend buying.

I bought this firesteel after doing some research and am glad i did!! For the price, this has to be the best deal and I'm positive that if used in a survival situation it may last longer than you.
I can definitely this out performs those small "cute" fire steels with the fancy orange handles and is much more affordable. Buy two of these for the price of one of those! Im definitely a happy (and warm) camper!
All prices are in USD.
