  1. Best fire tool ever!

Posted by Ron on Nov 1st 2013

This baby sparks with delight and vigor. Works best when using the back of a high carbon steel knife but any good striker will work. This is the best I have ever used and going to have a sheath made just to make sure I always have this one with me.EXCELLENT!!!!

  2. Need to survive armageddon? One of these will be essential.

Posted by Andrew on Aug 31st 2013

You could light literally millions of fires with one of the Bunker sized FireSteel.com rods, and still have a few match-sized left. These are must-haves for any survival kit or other outdoor equipment pack you are building.

  3. Very impressive Fire Steel tool

Posted by Dennis on Jul 17th 2013

Thank You Ron for an exceptional product and a very speedy delivery.
This will be my second review of the Bunker Fire Steel tool, as my first review is in the review section below. I was so impressed from the first Bunker Fire Steel that I had to purchased two (2) more, just to have in each of my vehicles, should I ever break down 50 miles from nowhere and have a need for a fire. Thank You Ron for providing an easy and functional fire tool to make a fire in any weather condition.
Thank you for a Job Well Done.

  5. FireSteel Bunker

Posted by G. Johnson on Feb 12th 2013

I bought this for my grandson, who is big on wilderness survival. He says it's great, throws really good sparks.

  6. Very impressive Fire Steel tool

Posted by Dennis on Jan 11th 2013

Thank You FireSteel.com, Job Well Done.

I really like the size of the Bunker, it has a real nice solid feel to it and is able to produce a lot of sparks, even for someone who has never had any experience with a fire steel before.

As this is my first experience with a fire steel, I wanted to verify the ability to start a fire as easily as with a match or lighter.

I was Very surprised at the ease of starting two fires with the Bunker fire steel. One with a cotton ball and bees wax, the other with a cotton ball and petroleum jelly, both started with no problem, which at the time I was outside in about a 20 plus mile per hour wind and the temperature - mid teens with snow on the ground, in other words very cold and windy. I tried matches and the lighter.

Both failed in the wind, but the Bunker performed and got the cotton balls started.

    Very Impressed!

I no longer need to carry matches or a lighter with the Bunker Fire Steel. The matches/lighter Do Not work well at all in Winds.

With the ease of making a fire in any condition since I been using it the Bunker Fire Steel, will be my only fire starting/carry tool now both at home and/or in the field.

Thank You for a very impressive Fire Steel tool.

  7. WOW !!!

Posted by Ken on Oct 12th 2012

Good size, very well made. Lets off lots of sparks with minimal effort. I'm Extremely Happy With it. Liked it so much I bought 2. . . For now.

  8. it's the best!!

Posted by adrian on Jul 9th 2012

With true honesty I will say this is the best firesteel

  9. It's just awesome!!

Posted by Nia on Nov 5th 2011

Hey , just received my new Firesteel Bunker in a very timely matter. Thank you Ron for such attention to delivery. I have already used the Bunker to start my charcoal B.B.Q. with a little help from my dryer lint and on the first strike I was on my way to a beautiful steak dinner. I am now gonna order a couple of blocks of magnesium to compliment my Bunker steel. It's just awesome!!

  10. Good for your bunker

Posted by Jeff on Oct 21st 2011

If I were in a SHTF bunker, I'd want this firesteel! Great product, great service - thank you.

  11. Best composition, superior to ferrocerium

Posted by Unknown on Oct 20th 2011

Anyone who's used ferrocerium before will soon realize when using these that they are of a different composition than "classic" ferrocerium rods. They are softer and from what I can figure, contain magnesium - or a higher concentration of magnesium than "normal" ferrocerium. While the sparks will burn longer, they are easier to ignite and generally I end up having to strike just once to get the sparks going - meaning the rod lasts longer.

It sparks EVERY TIME with EVERY scraper, every knife, etc

  12. Almost burned the office down

Posted by Woodsman 2 on Sep 18th 2011

It took just two scrapes. The first scrape on this firesteel removed some of the outer coating. The second scrape on the exposed metal of the firesteel sent a big glob of hissing sparks onto my desk. These bounced onto the carpet and sat there smoldering while I stomped on them trying to put them out.

Warning: do NOT try this at home!

Kudos and 5-stars. These fire starters ARE the real deal.

  13. WOW!

Posted by Unknown on Sep 18th 2011

You have to try this to believe it. My young grandson learned how to make fires the day this came in the mail.

  14. These FireSteels are Great!

Posted by MP on Sep 18th 2011

I recently bought his "Bunker" model.
(5 x 1/2). I tried it outside during a shower, it was not torrential, but raining steadily. I compared it to the Blast Match, which I actually like and use for certain things. But the fire steel blew it away.

The amount of sparks the thing throws off is insane. This thing works well in all conditions. I won't go into the woods again without one. I also carry cotton balls soaked in Vaseline.

I'd be more worried about how to put the fire out with this monster.

  15. Thank You

Posted by Unknown on Sep 18th 2011

I just received the Firesteel Bunker from the today. It took me a total of 2 minutes from opening the box to starting a fire with a wadded up piece of paper towel.

Thanks so much for sending this so quickly, and for making it available to us.

  16. Man o Man!

Posted by Fireman from New York on Sep 18th 2011

Unbelievable! I have never used a firesteel before trying this model. Right out of the box, first scrape, and a GIANT pile of big thick sparks flew off the firesteel and onto my pile of tinder, which burst into flame.

Would I recommend these firesteels? You bet!

  17. A Fire Starting Beast

Posted by Tim Sharp, Alaska on Sep 18th 2011

This IS a Bunker Buster of a firesteel. I bought three, one for myself and one for both of my grown sons. Huge sparks, very easy to use.

Also thank you Ron for your new super scrapers which give the best sparks I have ever seen from a firesteel

  18. Yes, the Bunker Buster!

Posted by Unknown on Sep 18th 2011

I had to laugh when the guy from Alaska called these firesteels "Bunker Busters", because that is what they are - huge, easy to use firesteels with plenty of rod to make thousands of fires.

    These are great!

  19. tried all of them

Posted by mike on Sep 18th 2011

I bought 2 bunker rods with scraper and magnesium rod a couple of weeks ago. If you like to know you can start a fire in any condition without having to carry perfect tinder on you, this is the one you need. It will light up almost any natural tinder that you find in the woods. I live in wet and cold Canada, and they shine.

  20. Awsome

Posted by Unknown on Sep 18th 2011

I tried out this fire steel as soon as I got it on 2 different kinds of birch bark and it worked great! I wanted a BIG firesteel as the last scout model I bought from another company was dissapointing. Buy one and you won't be disappointed.
