Description

FireSteel.com Super Scrapers (also known as "FireSteel Strikers") are specially manufactured using an extra-hardened metal alloy that maximizes the amount of sparks you get when scraped against a FireSteel.com FireSteel.  These scrapers have become the de-facto scraper of choice among FireSteel enthusiasts.  We have customers who routinely purchase our specially made FireSteel.com Super Scrapers by the dozen and even by the hundreds!

If you want the most out of your FireSteel, we recommend you get a FireSteel.com Super Scraper.  Even though you can use any sharp, hard object to produce sparks from our FireSteel.com FireSteel (even a piece of broken glass will do the trick in a pinch), if you want a piece of gear that is compact and efficient, get a FireSteel.com Super Scraper.  Every one of the 6 edges of the Super Scraper's blade is very hard, sharp and ready for action.  Because the metal is of superior hardness and durablity, the sparking action is extreme to say the least!

The metal striker blade is securely attached to a hard plastic holder complete with lanyard hole for ease of attachement to your favorite FireSteel with Lanyard Hole.

FireSteel.com FireSteels are already the best FireSteels in the world.  Combined with our excellent FireSteel.com Super Scrapers (Strikers), you can rest assured that you will be able to make a fire whenever and wherever you need one.

    Super scraper review

Posted by Tom Brooks on Oct 23rd 2015

Over the past couple years I've ordered about 15 of these. They are so much better then anything else out there. Very comfortable and easy to use plus their rc hardness is superb. The sharp edges stay sharp even after countless strikes. Firesteel.com is great to work with. Ron is just the best! All orders have arrived in only 2 or 3 days and they're complete and correct. What else could you ask for! Plus their prices can't be beat. I've also replaced the strikers off of a couple brand X firesteels I'd purchased several years ago with the super scraper and tossed the brand X scrapers in the junk box. The super scraper is just better!

    Dependability in your hand

The best scraper for getting that fire going. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 6.

    Head to Head Test

Posted by Jonathan on Sep 10th 2015

I am ordering several more to pair with every survival kit and fire starting system I have. If you still have a piece of Hacksaw blade tied to your fire starter, throw it out and get one of these. You will not regret it.

    Great Scraper

Posted by Jeff on Aug 27th 2015

You can read all the other reviews, it's a great little scraper. Not huge, but easy to throw sparks with. I carry a large and small ferro rod with me. Tied one of these scrapers to each one. I am very happy with this product.

Would give Super Scraper ten (10) stars

Posted by Ron C. on Jul 24th 2015

This being the age of 'ultra-light', there are many ways to lighten up a load for the ruck, Super Scraper is one of the easiest and best ways. A dozen of these small, light tools in various places on your person means no matter how many are carelessly lost, you'll always have another one (this might be important on a rainy day in the middle of the 100 Mile Wilderness!). For instance, hang your Woodlore clone on a branch during breakfast, and fifteen miles later - when you need it to light a fire for coffee or to stave off hypothermia, it's gone. Oh my, walk back and retrieve the knife if you are able or you'll have to use one or another of those 'friction' methods you learned on that famous video channel. Or you can grab the extra Super Scraper that, thinking ahead, you bought and squirreled away for just such an occasion. After a refreshing cuppa, hike back to retrieve the forgotten tool..

    Better than a knife

Posted by Jonathan on Jul 2nd 2015

I have a Magnesium fire starter. But, it didn't come with any kind of scraper. I tried to practice once using a Kabar knife. The results were terrible. The knife edge chewed up the ferro rod and the whole thing was a mess. I ordered this Super Scraper and what a difference. Easy to grip. Just the right size. It does a great job of not only sparking the ferro but also carving the magnesium shavings. Super value.

    Great Product

Posted by Weston Knight on Jun 23rd 2015

When something is very functional as well as durable I classify it as a superior tool (I then put it into by maxpidition bag) and carry it. That is where this superior tool lives... well, in my bag and on my side (as I carry a blade with a ferrocium rod attached to the side daily). I have purchased several of these Firesteel Super Scrapers to go with my knives. My blades have a 90 degree spine, so I could use this to get sparks with my fire steels, by I find that this causes several tiny pits in the knife and although this does not hurt the knife other than aesthetically, I find it silly to use the blade when the perfect tool is already in existence. So... I give you fine folks. At firesteel.com an A+ for having really useful tools for the average person to use. Thanks again and take care. Weston Knight

This is a very good ferro rod striker

Posted by Unknown on Jun 9th 2015

Just put your ferro rod down pointing towards the fire tender and keep on striking the ferro rod until you see that your fire tender has lit. I use a cotton ball that has either been dipped slightly in hot bees wax and then cooled down, or a cotton ball that has petrolatum jelly or lip balm on it to use as my fire tender.

Great product, does what it said it would

Posted by Harry Swank on Jun 6th 2015

This product does everything that was stated it would do. It throws out a lot of Sparks and will ignite almost any tender.
