Description

FireSteel.com Super Scrapers (also known as "FireSteel Strikers") are specially manufactured using an extra-hardened metal alloy that maximizes the amount of sparks you get when scraped against a FireSteel.com FireSteel.  These scrapers have become the de-facto scraper of choice among FireSteel enthusiasts.  We have customers who routinely purchase our specially made FireSteel.com Super Scrapers by the dozen and even by the hundreds!

If you want the most out of your FireSteel, we recommend you get a FireSteel.com Super Scraper.  Even though you can use any sharp, hard object to produce sparks from our FireSteel.com FireSteel (even a piece of broken glass will do the trick in a pinch), if you want a piece of gear that is compact and efficient, get a FireSteel.com Super Scraper.  Every one of the 6 edges of the Super Scraper's blade is very hard, sharp and ready for action.  Because the metal is of superior hardness and durablity, the sparking action is extreme to say the least!

The metal striker blade is securely attached to a hard plastic holder complete with lanyard hole for ease of attachement to your favorite FireSteel with Lanyard Hole.

FireSteel.com FireSteels are already the best FireSteels in the world.  Combined with our excellent FireSteel.com Super Scrapers (Strikers), you can rest assured that you will be able to make a fire whenever and wherever you need one.

    Best scraper available

Posted by Rick Dean on Jan 5th 2016

I am a ferro rod connoisseur of sorts. I have too many to mention and have to try every ferro rod and fire maker that becomes available. What I have learned is that fire making is an art and to make good fire, the more one practices, the better one gets at it. I have many different rods that employ different scrapers. Some are fixed and some are not. I have found that the best combo is using a scraper that is not fixed but is seperate from the ferro rod. I have used many different items to scrape my ferro rods with and the best by far are the scrapers sold right here on firesteel.com. They shower sparks from any rod I have and have crisp, hard, clean 90 degree angles on the scrapers that is key to getting great showers of sparks. I am in the process of changing out all my scrapers to strictly run the firestel.com scrapers. From the Super scrapers to the Palm scrapers Each type will be found attached to all my various fire steels and ferro rods. As a matter of fact, I am even attaching a Super scraper and a Palm scraper together with single ferro rods so if I am using gloves or my hands are freezing and don't want to work well, I can grip the Palm scraper. The Super scaper is used in normal usage. Two is one and one is none. I just attach both scrapers with 550 paracord and make lanyards to attach to gear and bags and I make some to just hang around my neck so they will always be on my person with a ferro rod and both scrapers hanging from the paracord. Use your imagination when making ferro rod & scraper combos. The skys the limit and NEVER be caught without the basic tools to make fire with. It may truly save your life one day.

Don't need the hacksaw blade anymore

Posted by Nace on Dec 17th 2015

I used to add hacksaw blades to my old steels to get a spark. Now I mostly just buy the kits here from Firesteel.com with the scraper already attached. I'm getting additional scrapers to keep around just in case and for some of those old steels that are laying around. These are great. Lightweight , throw a great spark and are heavier duty than other commercially sold scrapers I've seen.

    Worth it!!

Posted by Mike G. on Dec 6th 2015

I was considering making my own scrapers. However after finding your website, reading the reviews, ordering them, and using them: These are amazing. You could not make them as well as these for less than this price ... by far!

    Best $2 I ever spent

Posted by Kirk in Missouri on Nov 29th 2015

I guess there's not a lot to get excited about a scraper, but I'm glad I purchased a couple of them to go with my firesteels. I have tied them to my steels.......so a fire is quickly at hand so I don't have to open my knife. You can't go wrong for a couple of bucks.

    Compact and Efficient

These super scrapers are very easy to hold with a thumb and forefinger and bite into a firesteel nicely to throw Gobs Of Sparks.

    They just work good.

Posted by Tony on Oct 25th 2015

Nothing else to say, they are very good at making sparks from a ferro rod, are light weight and well constructed. I will order again from this company.
