FireSteel Super Scraper

As a survival instructor and scout den leader, I recommend the fire steel striker to everyone, it is hands down the best there is. No matter what kind of steel we use or if we use a magnesium block they work. Several steels and blocks I teach with require substantial strength and even a sharp edge to work properly and usually a knife edge is needed, so if you have a firesteel.com striker. better get a couple just in case!

These strikers are so well made with a very durable and super hard carbon steel material, you can even use them to effectively shave your fire starter tinder bundle center starting point by scrapping small semi-powdery pile of low flash point material (ember)using very dry small thin tree branches that can work as well as char cloth and acts much like a bow and drill ember firestarter once it catches a spark!

I used this with other firesteels and it was a 500% improvement in spark production. I love that they are made out of hardened tool steel and will keep their edge very well. They also produce copious amounts of sparks from FireSteel.com's awesome products. Don't know why I didn't get one before.

I recently ordered 3 of these thinking they were a cheap gimmick but I have to eat my own words! The Super Scrapers are really an outstanding product for a great price! They are built like a tank yet weight almost nothing. There must be some sort of carbide in the extra thick metal part of the scrapers because it just creates a huge shower of sparks. Even the plastic holder with its ergonomic shape for the fingers has had some thought put into it. Another great product to compliment the already great firesteels sold here... Thanks Ron!!!

It's hard to write something new here.... I, too have other types of firesteels with less effective strikers. This item works better than ANY of its competition!! It can easily start a fire in the rain due to its strong, hot sparks.

Hi Ron got the package just a few days ago. I'm really impressed with firesteels. Thank you for service way beyond what others would do. All of the firesteels throw huge sparks. They work better than the one I was issued in the military. Thanks again Ron, you have fantastic products!

I have many different firesteels from various companies. This Scraper makes any firesteel better. They are well built a made with metal about 3X thicker than the usual scraper provided with the various firesteels on the market. A true must have!
