2. Just the right size for the job

   I have two Ranger FireSteels, and I give them as gifts to the young men at my Church during our Men's Retreat. They are small enough to go in a survival pouch or BOB, but not so small that they are not functional. I've started several fires with mine, and I don't see it being used up any time soon. I have my main Ranger on a paracord lanyard with one of FireSteel.com's magnesium rods. Perfect set

   Fantastic fire steel. Shoots a virtual stream of hot sparks with minimum effort.
   
   I ordered two right off the blocks after reading the countless reviews and experiences with this product. I've tested it and feel very confident in my ability to start a fire even in challenging conditions. Fits easily in my cook kit.
   
   Shipped promptly and the rods came wrapped in newspaper which I can recycle and doesn't take a lot of effort to unwrap (unlike some of the fancier plastic wrapping). Great purchase!!

8. Light, Durable, Great EDC

   Generates strong sparks. Much easier to light my Pocket Rocket stove with less strikes (saving gas) than other competing brands. I like to pair with the small, magnesium rod with a hole in order to always have tinder handy in less favorable conditions. The little grip makes it easier to use the full length of rod. Durable, light weight, lots of strikes and easy to use. Keep one in your pocket!

9. Amazing Firesteel!!!

   I don't know if these guys have bottled up the Devil's flatulence and added to the fire steel formula or what, but these things put out an amazing amount of sparks. Far better than any other ferro rod I have tried. I feel like I can count my life on this thing. Great Job!!

    I purchased 2 of these with 2 of the 3/8" magnesium rods with lanyard hole drilled as a camping/hiking/bushcraft gift for my father and I. The shipping was extremely fast. I ordered on a Friday morning and saw a package in my mailbox on Monday.
    
    I've used mine for everything from lighting my BBQ pit to campfires just to see what it can do. I'll definitely be buying more from here in the near future.
