The GobSpark™ Ranger FireSteel adds a unique double lanyard hole handle to the popular Ranger FireSteel (1/4 inch diameter x 3 inches long).
This small handle allows for a better grip when scraping sparks from your FireSteel, as well as attachment of a lanyard (26-inches of 550 paracord lanyard included), FireSteel Scraper (FireSteel.com Super Scraper included), tinder for making fires (such as our magnesium tinder rods) other small gear.
The GobSpark Ranger FireSteel can be had with a BLACK or CHERRY RED handle. Same price, same firesteel and handle, just a different color.

- Size: 1/4 inch diameter by 3 inches long (6.35 x 76mm)
- Useable length of FireSteel: 2-5/8 inches (66.7mm)
- Handle with double lanyard holes is attached to one end of the steel
- Lanyard made from 26-inches of military spec 550 paracord
- A genuine FireSteel.com Super Scraper (also known as a "striker")
- Weight: 1.0 ounce (28 grams)
- Robust 5500 F (3000 C) sparks that will start a fire in the toughest conditions

Thank you for this great product! I bought firesteel before but never thought I would come back... but I'm back because I gave away all my firesteel to family members. Now I'm creating my own survival bag so I need more firesteel.

Hot Sparks Galore!

I have a hard time keeping my FireSteel. Every time I demonstrate my FireSteel my friends are so impressed they look at me with a look that is obvious. Can I have that one?
I have given some to young teenagers, also. They appreciate the FireSteel along with a zip lock bag of cotton balls and jute string.They show off to their friends like I do.
I even lit a cotton ball in a church service for an object lesson. That got their attention. LOL!

You have someone shipping out of my home town, because it arrived quick as chit!
Took the Ranger too the field to practice my bushcraft soon after it arrived. Impressive... On the second strike my Vaseline cotton ball was ablaze!
I had someone with me when I went, he just had to look at it.. stared at it with great interest and then just *had* to play with it!
He got a pine needle/leaf tinder bundle glowing red with 3 strikes... I yelled "BLOW ON IT!". With confusion in his face, he just did as I ordered... and a blast of flame came from the tinder! I just smiled like a kid... He stacked on kindle and some fire logs we cut with my pruning saw and in less than 2 minutes the fire was impressive!
Bottom line, do not go into the bush without a Ranger (or other Firesteel)!

These folks sell great products AND they have their heads in the right place. I frankly don't know why anyone would rely on matches or a lighter while out in the woods. You should have at least two firesteels. Remember, two is one and one is none. Maybe I'll start giving them out as gifts.

Ordered 2 about a year ago and couldn't be more pleased. With a little bit of practice, these fireSteels become the best tool for start fires ever!
I have one I use/practice with and one I carry every day. I Like these so much that I got a GobSpark Armageddon too! Better then a Bic lighte or matches any day.

We had scouts using the plain firesteel rods with pocket knives - even the youngest could make a fire on his first or second strike - super product, and I will always have one in with my camping and teaching gear.
