Easy to Use with Gloved or Cold Hands

Easy to Aim Your Sparks onto the Tinder
To use this special FireSteel Handle (see video below as well as the pictures)
- Place the handle in the palm of your hand so that the firesteel lays between your index and middle fingers.
- Position your hand palm-down and place the FireSteel Rod next to your tinder.
- While holding the firesteel handle tightly, scrape the FireSteel rod hard and fast in one fluid motion
This will produce a massive shower of white hot 5500 degree F sparks aimed directly at your tinder.
The special shape of the handle allows for creative attachment to your belt or gear.
The FireSteel Palm Scraper™
This great piece of American-made gear securely snaps onto your GobSpark Armageddon FireSteel, serving double purpose as a protective case. The rectangular shape fits snugly into the palm of your hand or glove, so that you can scrape sparks from your firesteel even with heavy gloves on your hands or when your fingers are so cold you can hardly move them - potentially a life saver when you are freezing cold or wet from an overturned boat etc.

Firm handgrip with the scraper and a shower of sparks when you need them; a must have for the back country (and you are in a heap of trouble anywhere without the ability to make fire). Safe to carry and ready for use anytime you need it.

Lives up to its name

Lives up to its name, gobbs of sparks at a temperature hot enough even for damp materials. A magnesium rod takes care of the moisture problem very neatly. I got mine with the hand grip on the striker which can produce shavings off the magnesium rod but the back of a knife proved more effective.

I bought a GobSpark for myself last year. I like it so much that I bought one for my son-in-law for his birthday to take backpacking and one for my son to take with him to Afghanistan. This way I know they'll always be able to start a fire no matter where they are located.

I gave each of my two sisters GobSpark Armageddons to use on an upcoming camping trip. They never used anything like this before. I showed them how to use it. My sisters were able to light Vaseline soaked cotton balls in one strike. They are thrilled to have an easy to use product that does a very important task. Thanks Ron, Ivan

When you want sparks this tool delivers. Working with some Boyscouts this past weekend on fire building even with heavy winds after days of rain the boys had an easy time getting warm.

I have thus far purchased 3 of the GobSpark Armageddon fire steels with the palm scraper which is an extra. The palm scraper is a must. Not only is it very effective for its primary purpose but it provides an excellent case for the actual steel rod as well as a attachment point in the handle.
Over all this device is the most effective fire producing device I have ever used. After countless hours of researching this was my choice. Best quality and price point out there. You will not be disappointed!!
