Easy to Use with Gloved or Cold Hands
Imagine trying to start a fire with very cold hands or while wearing gloves. A small blocky firesteel handle may be very difficult to hold onto. But using a GobSpark™ Armageddon FireSteel presents no problem, even with gloved hands
Easy to Aim Your Sparks onto the Tinder
To use this special FireSteel Handle (see video below as well as the pictures)
- Place the handle in the palm of your hand so that the firesteel lays between your index and middle fingers.
- Position your hand palm-down and place the FireSteel Rod next to your tinder.
- While holding the firesteel handle tightly, scrape the FireSteel rod hard and fast in one fluid motion
This will produce a massive shower of white hot 5500 degree F sparks aimed directly at your tinder.
The special shape of the handle allows for creative attachment to your belt or gear.
The FireSteel Palm Scraper
This great piece of American-made gear securely snaps onto your GobSpark Armageddon FireSteel, serving double purpose as a protective case. The rectangular shape fits snugly into the palm of your hand or glove, so that you can scrape sparks from your firesteel even with heavy gloves on your hand or when your fingers are so cold you can hardly move them.
The specially hardend steel firesteel scraper that is built into the Palm Scraper is identical to that used in the "Super Scraper", so you know you'll get gobs of sparks.
If you already own a GobSpark Armageddon Firesteel, you can purchase the Palm Scraper separately.

Best Firesteels on the Market Hands Down!!

Excellent firesteels. I keep one of these attached to my knife sheath and multi-tool for any eventuality that I would need to make a fire. The scraper is good, but for the best results, use the back of a good carbon steel knife and it's like the 4th of July. Everyone should have one for just in case!!

This thing is amazing and let me tell you, HOT. I have never had a starter work this well and so easy to use. Keep in mind, you do need to scrape the black coating off before the magic really starts happening.

My Favorite FireSteel

I've tested 9 other firesteels. The Gobstark has the most robust steel and striker and was easiest on the hand. My 9 year old daughter and 8 year old son were able to start twig fires with a single cotton ball with minimal effort and instruction. This is now my favorite firesteel! Arrived SUPER quick.

All I can say is wow!!! Throws massive sparks! Shipping was as fast as I've seen anywhere!!! You need a firesteel buy this one you will not be dissatisfied! I got two and tried them out today. Wow!!!!!!

Crazy Hot Sparks

I have had a GobSpark Armageddon Firesteel since Jan of this year. I'm a Cubmaster and an Assistant Scoutmaster. We have used the heck out of this thing! It has started hundreds of campfires and several hundred more "tests" where the boys practice igniting different tinder materials. Lots of fun.
The Gobspark never fails to produce tons of hot sparks, the boys master it almost immediately. It has helped the boys at Camporees and Klondikes win or place well in fire making competitions. It is a great tool.
For Christmas I figured I'd get my two sons and myself each a fresh Gobspark, I visited your website and found that you now offered the "Palm Scraper". I ordered three sets, They arrived a couple of days ago, Being the big kid I am that I am, I had to play with one. I had them mailed to my work. I took one out and gave it a couple of test strikes,...I damn near caught my desk on fire. Wow!! The palm scraper produces a crazy amount of hot sparks with minimal effort. I tried the palm scraper on my old, wore out Gobspark and had the same results..massive amounts of white hot sparks. What a great innovation. I just wanted to let you know and thank you for selling an awesome product at a reasonable price. I have no doubt that if push came to shove that this thing would help save my life.
Attached is a picture of my first Gobspark FireSteel, which shows signs of wear, but has hundreds of fire left in it. It has become an "old friend" and is the first thing I pack when our Troop leaves for camp, because I know how much that the boys and I count on it. It has started many great campfires..which have been the Genesis of many awesome memories..thanks!

I bought the FireSteel completely on reviews. I had just the rod at first. From the first time I started making sparks I loved it. I used it to make fires every night for 2 months when I worked in the woods and had to buy the Gob Spark Armageddon because of the handle. Highly recommend this product. Great price + shipping is fast.
