Magnesium Tinder Rod with Lanyard Hole
Product Description
The soft 3/8 inch in diameter by 3 inches long magnesium tinder rod with the addition of a handy lanyard hole for easy attachement to your FireSteel.
To use magnesium tinder rods, simply scrape off a small pile shavings using your knife or FireSteel scraper.
When you apply a flame or spark from from your firesteel the magnesium shavings burn at 4000 degrees F (2200 degrees C). This extremely high temperature makes magnesium an excellent tinder for helping you start fires with damp wood.

Easy to use. no patience

Well, unlike the other reviewer I believe you don't need patience. With my super scraper I get a decent amount of magnesium in 5-15 scrapes. And it isn't like that hard magnesium Cohlagans crap that's very very difficult to scrape off.

What I like about these magnesium firesteel rods is when your rod wears out you can easily get another to replace it.
Make a small pile of magnesium shavings using the knife or firesteel scraper. It can take several minutes to do this, be patient. BUT these magnesium rods provide tinder that is ALWAYS dry, even if they have been dunked in water.
I recommend you always carry tinder like these mag rods. If all natural tinder is wet you will know you can still start a fire.
