  • The FireSteel.com Ranger is an excellent size FireSteel for introducing groups to making fires. A good choice for scouting and other organizations where you would like to provide a FireSteel for each individual to use
  • Plenty of firesteel to light many dozens of fires, and a littler easier to hold onto than the smaller Pup and Miniature firesteels

    Firesteel Size

Size matters and I found them hard to hold and kind of short to easily generate enough sparks. Going to try and glue some together and attach a wooden dowel handle to them.

    Came as described

This is my first fire steel, so without comparison I know that other's thoughts and opinions outweigh mine. However, my 4" Ranger is perfect for my needs, came exactly as described, and I especially appreciate the attention paid to the concept of sustainability (minimalist packaging, all paper/cardboard). Shipping took longer than predicted, but that is most definitely not the fault of Firesteel.com. I look forward to future purchases from this company.
