This is the very popular Armageddon FireSteel.com FireSteel inserted into our protective FireSteel Tube ™. The FireSteel inside measures 3/8 x 3-inches and will light many thousands of fires.
Unscrew the cap to reveal the firesteel. Reverse the cap and screw it back into the tube to create one heck of a handle!
One end of the tube contains a very fine 20-mm liquid filled button compass with luminous dial that has been carefully checked for accuracy.
The FireSteel tube ™ is specially made so that you can securely wrap appoximately 12-feet of high grade 550 parachute cord made to military specifications. This cord has 7 inner strands surrounded by an outer sheath and is rated with a minimum breaking strength of 550-pounds. "550 paracord" has a thousand and one survival uses; from field expedient equipment fixes, fishing line and even dental floss.
Each FireSteel tube ™ also has a genuine FireSteel.com FireSteel Super Scraper and lanyard consisting of and additonal 3 feet of military spec 550 parachute cord. These famous FireSteel.com super scrapers have been proven to give ultra robust sparks when used on a FireSteel.
This FireSteel.com FireSteel Tube ™ features the very popular 3/8 x 3-inch Armageddon FireSteel in a nearly unbreakable aluminum tube. The FireSteel can be easily replaced should it wear out (unlikely for years to come!)

I just received my Firesteel.com FireTube Armaggedon.
All I can say is this thing is built to last, it's built to be used hard.
This was my first order from FireSteel.com and they pass with flying colors. The order came in 4 days, and I live in Puerto Rico! The packaging was well done in a rugged tube.
But the firesteel tube itself, oh my god...the scraper, the firesteel, the tube, the paracord, the compass....all work to perfection, all in a tight, tough and easy to carry package.

The is the one to get if you are having a hard deciding which tube to go with. Its a good balance between weight and size yet offer a wicked steel which WILL work when needed. I have one of every tube and if I had to choose just one this would be it.

The mistake was my fault tho, I didn't really read the specs of the item, so it turns out it is huge! The firesteel rod will light at least a million fires. The compass it's embedded in the unit. The aluminum tube has plenty of room to comfortably carry lots of tinder (fine steel wool). The sparks are huge too!!!
I don't regret buying the item at all, although now that I know how good the quality of this products is, I am gonna shop for another smaller one to carry with me at all times...this one is definitely big, an excellent choice for guy that spends a lot of time in the wilderness for sure. I have just one small comment: I wish the scraper was a little smaller and fit in the tube.
Overall, I would recommend this Item to anyone, it's build to last forever.

Having spent years traveling the world, many of them in the Rangers, I only wish I had one of these well thought out tools then.
The Armageddon FireSteel Tube is a user friendly, stoutly built system, the tube, compass, striker, and of course, the FireSteel, are all first rate! Plenty of room for tinder in the tube, and/or other items.
I'll be ordering more FireSteel items in the near future!

I just received my Firesteel.com Armageddon steel and tube today. This is probably the most thought out piece of equipment I've ever seen. Great for camping, hiking, emergency fire building, and bug out bags.
Ron made it even better with the addition of the button compass and the 550 paracord. If you're on the fence about buying of these great steels and tubes, get over it and order one for yourself!
Fast shipping too. From the time ordered online to my door was less than a week.

What a nice survival tool!!

I decided to go with the Armageddon FireSteel Tube for many reasons:
- It has a compass
- It has a good amount of quality rope
- The firesteel is big enough for thousands of fires
- I can print a map on thin paper at home and wrap it over the firesteel, then wrap some tinder around it. With the o-ring, no water will get inside the tube.
So wherever I go hiking, I bring this tool with me. It is small enough to fit in my hand, lightweight. This way, wherever I go I have fire, rope, map & compass. Doesn't get any better!!

Couldn't wait to get the package home from the post office and try it out. I was not disappointed! The firesteel tubes are really nicely finished. Huge blasts of sparks, and it looks and feels so solid you could drop off a cliff and it would be fine. The compass in the end is a nice touch, as is the paracord wrap.

What do you get a husband that has nearly every outdoor toy ever invented? I gave him this firesteel tube for his birthday. Went out on the patio and used it to start the grill. One scrapes on the firesteel and BIG hot sparks flamed the grill up in half a second.
His eyes lit up and he told me this is the best gift he has been given in a long time.
