    Better than I hoped!

Posted by Cynthia on Feb 19th 2019

I purchased the tiniest rods and expected that they'd be fragile as a consequence. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I've heard great things about Firesteel.com - and now I know that it was not simply hot air!

Should of purchased a long time ago

My BOB, along with my wife's, needed the addition of fire steels. After research I found the best regarded steels came from Firesteel.Com. I ordered a couple of steels and scrapers. And the shipping charge was only $4.95 (a place where most business charge $$ for their handling and packaging). In 3 days the order was in my mailbox!!! To my surprise, they arrived in a very small pkg and once opened, found the steels wrapped in an 81/2 x 11 pice of paper.......which was the instructions on how to best use your steels. I found that this "packaging" was totally cool.......no bulk, no fuzzy marketing.......just common sense that keeps the cost to the customer at a minimum. I really appreciate this!!! But the best part are the steels themselves........WOW. Talk about a HOT SPARK. My only concern was that I didn't order any magnesium at the same time. But this company ROCKS. Just check out the reviews. And no, I have no affiliation with this company. I just like giving credit where credit is due. Thanks for a great product!!!! Kirk

I ordered this along with the Micro and the Tiny, I would suggest that this is the smallest you go with if you want a small fire steel for mini survival kits.

    Works

Posted by Derek on Feb 20th 2015

This thing is little. I superglued mine to the side of a mini bic as a back up. Practiced using it to light a vaseline impregnated cotton ball and the sparks started it right up in 17 degree weather. I used the back of the blade of a Spyderco ladybug with locking blade. Worked great! Very small, well rounded fire kit! I also used it to light my alcohol stove in 17 degree weather. Noticed that it didn't throw the sparks quite as far as my much larger firesteel but worked none the less. I will be ordering more of these!

great product, fast shipping even over the holiday, have purchased from this company before have never had any problems with their products. Probably some of the best prices on the internet. I only give it 4 stars because I never give anything 5 stars there's always room for improvement. Most went towards christmas gifts. Have used their products in the past have always been able to make a fire. Really need to use there stryker or use a good carbon steel knives 4 best Sparks.
