  1. Same size rod as in the Gobspark.

Posted by MadMax on Sep 13th 2017

This is the same size rod as the Gobspark, but without the handle. I didn't want a handle so I can stream line it on my ESEE 3 knife sheath in a ferro rod holder. I don't have experience with many other brands, but this gives nice blobs of sparks with my knife spine. Thumbs up!

  2. Matching pair

Posted by kenk on Jul 19th 2017

Also bought the new Red Palm Scraper Kit with magnesium but passed on the "Toggle" because the 3.0 FireSteel seemed a natural companion to me. It's held together with bicycle inner tube band. Hint: don't burn the cord ends before you thread them.

  3. Good sparks!

Posted by Trevor Gregory on Feb 3rd 2017

I would have ordered a larger one but this was my first one! Works great though!!

  4. Awesome

Perfect size, perfect product. Best ferrocium rods on market hands down.

  5. Didn't know there was difference.....but

Posted by Kirk in Missouri on Nov 29th 2015

I suppose I'm not educated on "firesteels", cause I thought they were all the same as I have a couple different ones. But needing a couple more for BOB's, I did some searching and found Firesteels.com. All reviews look great......so I ordered them.

Well, compared to the steels I already have, there's no contest. These steels fro. fIresteels.com are hot, hot, hot. They instantly started a pile of leaves I had outside. And a dry newspaper.....HA! They are great and of course I highly recommend.

  6. Simple well made

Posted by Doug Overman on Nov 24th 2015

Basic fire steel that is well made and throws a lot of hot sparks. I can usually start a fire by the second scrape.

  7. great

    Works great, a must have.

  8. Fire starting Beast

Posted by Darvin on Feb 10th 2015

Great product and service. This rod makes a serious amount of sparks! Got this one to put in the fire steel loop of a new knife sheath. I am going to buy a few more to stash in packs and such.

  9. First Firesteel product I've bought

Posted by Gregory Barnier on Jan 12th 2015

I have never used this type of fire starter before. However, I tried it out with a striker purchased here and it did make a a good bunch of sparks, It comes coated in black and you have to abrade off the black to get to the steel but the striker does that job for you. I attached the striker and the steel to a cord through the lanyard holes and it looks like a good, compact emergency fire starting kit. For the price, especially, everyone should have this, or similar, in their kit. Fast service.

  10. Hot starter!

Posted by Doug Duncan on Dec 31st 2014

Top fast service. Perfect size for the old BOB, & having a Layard hole is a big plus! If you can't throw sparks with this look at your technique & try again. I'll be getting some more from these good people.

  11. Fast Service

  14. The Firesteel Armagedden

Posted by Unknown on Aug 12th 2014

This tool is incredibly important to a survival situation. I have them everywhere I might be. I'd hate to get caught out without one

  15. Mega Sparks!

Posted by Unknown on May 25th 2014

Armageddon 3.0 is perfect for the pocket on my K-Bar scabbard! Creates nice big hot sparks!

  16. Perfect size for small survival kit

Posted by Phil Motta on Feb 20th 2014

This Firesteel is large enough to comfortably handle yet small enough to easily fit in a small emergency/survival kit. With the lanyard hole, you can attach the scraper and/or magnesium tinder rod to it so they are never separated!

  17. first time buyer for FireSteel

Posted by lady in Texas on Feb 16th 2014

I just tried out the Armageddon Jr FireSteel today. I am a first time buyer. I really thought this product was awesome. No doubt about it. I will be making another order soon, now that I know how "FireSteel" performs. I am definitely going to get the palm striker this time too.

  18. Better than matches.

Posted by 1regular guy on Jan 12th 2014

I use Firesteel instead of matches during my survival adventures.

  19. Fire in the rain!!

Posted by joefriday on May 22nd 2013

This steel throws a ton of sparks. Enough so that with a small pile of pitch wood shavings and one stroke with the back of my knife we had good fire started in "less-than-ideal" conditions.

  20. Great steel!!!

    Posted by Stenmark78 on Dec 12th 2012

Had to order a firesteel blank for my custom sheath. Once again, great price, quick shipping! Keep up the good work FireSteel.com!
