Every survival kit should contain at least 50-feet of 550 paracord. This is the same parachute cord we use as lanyards for our FireSteels. Tough, durable, with a million and one survival uses.
A couple years ago my snowshoe bindings broke while hiking in deep snow up to my armpits. No problem - grabbed my hank of 550 Paracord, made some quick repairs, and hit the trail.
This is genuine 7-strand 550 paracord made to military specifications and used in parachutes. Don't be fooled by all the fake 550 sub-par paracord out there.
One excellent feature about parachute cord is that you can pull out individual strands each of which is very strong and use them for a multitude of purposes.
Tactically coiled, this 550 paracord will be there when you need it. Many thousands of uses from FireSteel Lanyards to fishing line, equipment repairs, shelter building and even suture material.
Note that although this 550 paracord is very strong, it is not designed to hold your body weight while repelling, etc. For these kinds of activities real climbing rope is needed.
Choose from these colors: Black, OD Green, Foliage Green, Dark Earth, Coyote. Gold, Electric Blue, and Electric Yellow - or from our camoflauge 550 paracord pattern section

What can you say. The paracord is high quality and reasonably priced. Since you get it from Firesteel.Com you know it is good. I plan to purchase some more for myself and for gifts.

Zillion uses for this stuff. The seven strands inside can be pulled out to make snares, fishing line, sutures, even dental floss. Keep some in your backpack, car, at home.
